Skelk

Skelks are sea-creatures that are often mistaken for mermaids. They are able to grow fur all over their body as well as removing it again. They live longer then Vampires and they are still considered Young at three hundred years old. The Skelks have their own languge which sounds like a seal barking. Of all of the members of the Cirque, only Evra Von and Madame Truska can speak and understand Skelk. Madame Truska is a Skelk and became a member of the Cirque, who's performance involved growing a beard and removing it again. It is also stated in the books that Vancha March can speak Skelk. Sean O Connor got brutally kissed by multiple skelks at once. Unfortunately for Sean, that day his sweet innocent nature was lost. He never recovered.
