Most people i knew hated her, but i actually felt really sorry for her. She never really had a chance, and i dont believe (even when a zombie) that she was completely evil. Just crazed. Which given her past and expirences is understandable. I loved her as Nadia, I loved her as Juni, and my stumach lurched when she (SPOILER ALERT) died in dark calling.

I actually think her "Juni Swan" persona wasn't just a cover up. It was a fantasy.

It involved her doing normal things, living a normal life she always wanted (but never got), it involved her being the beautiful swan (to quote her dad) she never got the chance to be and it makes me wonder--- how can you hate her? …

I must admit that I was greatly displeased with the Cirque Du Freak movie. I will state how it shoulda been. First off it shoulda followed the first three books perfectly. Secondly it shoulda been directed by Tim Burton. Next Crepsley shoulda been portrayed by Liam Neeson, read my other blog post for further info. Anthony Hopkins shoulda been Mr. Tiny. Gary Oldman shoulda been Mr. Tall instead of that creepy asian guy. Also Zoe Saldana should portray an older Debbi Hemlock in a future installment based off of the vampire hunters and vampire destiny parts of the series. They shoulda gotten reltively unknown yet still talented actors to portray Darren and Steve. I would appreciate it if others would psot they're ideas on here.

Have you found any possible references in any of Darran Shan's books? I can only remember a few that I found. The most obvious were in Ocean of Blood when Bram Stoker showed up and Seba said something about an interview with a vampire. The only other one I can remember is in Slawter when Grubbs turned his arm into a sword and sliced a bug (?) demon through the middle, which is a lot like a scene in an opening (about 20s in) for the anime FullMetal Alchemist. Haiz~~ Just finished all 12 books of the Saga of Darren Shan.. The ending was so touching.

I think that the author should start another saga about what would happen if the Lord of the Shadows (maybe Darren..) really took his place as the rightful ruler of the night.. and how his friends will strive to bring him back to the right path again..

I couldn't singly choose a favorite book, but Vampire Rites Trilogy (books 4,5&6) is my favorite.

My least favorite book though is Hunters of the dusk. No matter how hard I try I can never recall much after the Hunters heading to Evanna's.

I was thinking The Demonata should be publishes into a manga by Takahiro Arai. His art about The Saga of Darren Shan is really good I love to see The Demonata character in Takahiro Arai's drawing.

Everone will worry that the drawing will be too violent. I don't think it will be too violent I mean in Vol 3 of the cirque manga R.V's hand have been ripped appart by the wolf man and Sam got killed by the wolf man. I mean the entire Cirque manga is pretty violent as The Demonata. So Takahiro Arai's drawing about the demons won't be too violent engough to become mature. I mean Darren Shan said so himself that Cirque Du Freak and The Demonata are childrens book. Only The Thin exctuionar is adult series.

And, in book 7 I think..yeah. Well it says that Evanna wasn't much taller than Harkat. Is it just me or are the little people..too little in the movie? Which series do you prefer, The Saga of Darren Shan or The Demonata?

Personally, I prefer the Saga. Darren always manages to have some life in the story - even though at times he could be just a little naieve, I got a good laugh out of those --

Mr Crepsley blushed and said "'He then started to pull the hairs out from an even more sensitive place."

"Where?" I asked, but Mr Crepsley just turned away - when I asked Seba later, he chucked and said "His ears."

I thought i'd make a blog post on how I thought of the characters in Cirque Du Freak.

Darren Shan: 8/10. Darren is a GREAT main character. Good job to the real Darren Shan out there!

Mr. Crepsley: 9/10. I adored Mr. Crepsley. He seemed like a fatherly firgue to Darren.

Harkat Mulds: 7/10. I loved Harkat for protecting Darren, but didn't he seem a little TO over protective?

Vancha March: 8/10. Good ol' Vancha!
Steve Leonard: 8/10. Come on! We all gotta love our villians!

I have read all of Darren Shan's children's books. Cirque Du Freak was a true passion of mine. I never stopped reading! It was like a drug, I was so addicted to reading on, I hardly slept. Demonata was AWESOME. I found the whole "Gross Material" non-repulsive. I'm a weird sort. :)

I wasn't to fond with the ending in Cirque Du Freak. Darren ends up as a little person and is transported back into the past where he first goes into the freak show with Steve. In the book, it says that either Steve or Darren would end up destroying the world with Des Tiny. It was a fight to the fittest, and Darren and Steve kill both of each other. Darren didn't want to undergo such a brutal scene, so he found a loophole. After finishing up Steve, he made him kill …
